2137 Dwight Way
SERVING CLIENTS THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA
BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Located in the heart of Downtown Berkeley, 2137 Dwight Way is a six-story, 72,250-square-foot residential community that reflects West Builders’ commitment to thoughtful, high-quality construction in one of California’s most active urban markets.
Developed by Riaz Capital and designed by Levy Design Partners, this privately funded building features five levels of Type III-A wood-frame construction over a single level of Type III-A podium, delivering 58 residential units with a mix of one-, two-, four-, five-, and six-bedroom floor plans. Eight units are designated as affordable housing, serving households across a range of income levels.
West Builders served as the general contractor under a Design-Assist delivery model, working in close collaboration with the project team to bring this development to completion on a complex urban infill site. The finished exterior showcases painted cement plaster and horizontal lap siding with a collage-style facade treatment, giving the building a dynamic street presence that breaks up massing and adds character to the Dwight Way corridor.
The building is situated on a 0.56-acre parcel between Shattuck Avenue and Fulton Street, a short walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART Station and Telegraph Avenue, making it a well-connected home for residents of all ages.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This building is a privately funded 6-story (5) level of Type III-A construction over (1) level of Type I-A construction, 31,515 sqft., designed by Levy Design Partners. There will be 58 new residential units, 2 existing buildings with 8 residential units, ground floor amenity space, and open space.
